Washington, DC Speaker Series - Steve Goldin

RTKL, 2101 L Street NW, Washington, DC, 20037

Sponsored by HREAO, Harvard Club of Washington DC and RTKL.

Metro and the State of Maryland are laying the groundwork to create a transit oriented development in New Carrollton, Maryland. Already a multi-modal transit center, New Carrollton will have 5 million square feet of new office/retail/hotel and entertainment space and up to 3,000 new residential units on 39 acres. The goal is to create an urban, walkable, mixed-use community with a “vibrant sense of place.” As Director of Real Estate for Metro, Steve Goldin is leading that agency’s effort to choose a developer to create a development plan – the first big step in the project’s development. Mr. Goldin, Harvard College ’82, will speak about the anticipated development, the developer selection process and his own transition from a private sector firm focusing on mixed-use transit-oriented development to driving the process in the public sector. Registration is required. Membership and the event are free.
