Please join the Harvard Real Estate Alumni Organization and executives from Wyndam Hotel, Hualalai Resort, and Marriott International to discuss the post-pandemic recovery of the international and national hospitality industry and how major hotel owner and operators have adapted in the past year. Our speakers will discuss how the pandemic has impacted the hotel industry and the expected recovery, how the tourism experience is impacted, adjustments made to leisure and business travelers, how design and operation accomodates hygienic guidelines and touchless design/digitization, etc. The webinar include time for general audience discussion.

Eliot Hamlisch (AB'04, MBA '09)
- Eliot Hamlisch serves as executive vice president, Loyalty and Revenue Optimization, at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. In this role, he is responsible for maximizing revenue generating opportunities across Wyndham’s diverse portfolio of 20 iconic brands, with oversight for the Company’s customer engagement, loyalty, credit card, partnerships, distribution and revenue management functions. Prior to his current position, Hamlisch led Wyndham’s Global Sales organization. He joined the Company in 2016 as vice president of Sales Innovation after serving in senior sales, strategy and business development roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Deloitte Consulting, and American Express
Company. Hamlisch graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Cornell University’s Center for Hospitality Research, is a founding member of HSMAI’s Chief Loyalty Officer Executive Roundtable, and is a member of Harvard University’s Harvard College Schools Committee.
- Patrick Fitzgerald has been in the real estate development industry for more than 30 years. Today, Fitzgerald splits his time between Hualalai Resort and as an active investor/partner on other real estate investments. Fitzgerald joined Hualalai Resort as the Chief Operating Officer in 2005 and was
promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2006 where he stayed in that position until June 2015. During his tenure as CEO, he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of Hualalai Resort including asset management of the Four Seasons Hualalai, all real estate development activities and resort operations. In June 2015, Fitzgerald changed his role at Hualalai to be President of Hualalai Resort to manage all of the real estate development
activities for the resort and act as an advisor to Hualalai Investors on renovations and operations at the property. In May 2015, Fitzgerald formed DiamondHead Land with the ProspectHill Group and in a joint venture with Morgan Stanley Real Estate purchased the Queen Kapiolani Hotel in Waikiki Hawaii. In August 2017, DiamondHead Land formed a joint venture with Elliott Management to purchase the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, Mauna Lani Resort golf courses and undeveloped land inside of Mauna Lani Resort. Fitzgerald is also a limited partner in several real estate partnerships. Prior to joining Hualalai Resort, Fitzgerald was employed with Ocean Colony Partners, L.P. for 15 years, ending his tenure as President and Managing Director. In this role, he was responsible for all real estate development activities, operations, accounting and finance for the company. Fitzgerald is extensively involved in the community. He is a former board member of the Hawaiian Tourism Authority; he acts as President of the Kohala Coast Resort Association and is a Member of the Board of Directors, Hualalai Ohana Foundation. He received his B.S in Accounting from Fordham University and an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University.
- Pablo Botero is Senior Manager of Development for Marriott International in Mexico. Originally from Colombia, Pablo is currently in charge of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for Marriott brands with a wide range of ownership groups. Prior to joining Marriott, Pablo was the Director of Acquisitions and Development for LatAm for Viceroy Hotel Group, a full-service lifestyle luxury hotel brand. Previous experiences include being Country Manager for an American family office developing a luxury hotel in Cartagena’s walled city, as well as working for the former Minister of Finance of Colombia during his term. Pablo holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard College.
